Mark A. Weston, Artist/Designer

Coming from a long line of family artists, Mark was receiving monetary compensation for his pinstriping work by the age of 13.  Later adding to his resume murals, airbrushing, sign painting & lettering, carved wood, glass and stone.

Mark's skills as an artist range greatly.  Providing custom artwork for Queen Elizabeth, cast members of M.A.S.H. and other celebrities, Mark's skills became highly sought after.  Mark's custom etched glass work even was seen recently on the  National Geographic Channel as it adorns the entryway to the Peterbilt Truck Factory in Denton, Texas.

Mark can accomplish intricate celtic knotwork, delicate and colorful foliage, bright and vibrant eyepopping effects on dragons and even take painstaking time and get great pleasure in that simple tattoo.  Mark's tattoo art talents range from the "old school" to the traditional to custom body mural designs.  He loves inspiring others to seek their own designs.

Cosmetic tattooing was popular over 30 years ago and while visiting and spending time in such exotic destinations as Hong Kong and Thailand, Mark learned cosmetic and conventional tattooing in 1979 from some of the finest tattoo masters in the world.

His former tattoo studios in Gainesville and Key West, Florida, were highly successful and we are excited that Mark brings to our area his 35 years of art experience and 20 years of custom tattooing.  Few other area studios can offer this level of cross art expertise.                         Mark Weston at age 5

While not concentrating on his various forms of art, Mark enjoys riding his motorcycle, a 1997 California Custom Lowrider.  Another one of Mark's passions is remote control control cars, trucks and helicopters.  These are not hobby toys, but high-powered models.  These cars and trucks run at speeds in excess of 70-80 mph.  Mark has been flying helicopters for five years and building and running the cars and trucks for twenty years.

Gale Hartvigsen, Managing Owner

Gale brings just as a diversified back- ground to the business as Mark.  Adding to her background as a former police officer and later a paralegal, she adds business management, customer service and marketing.  Gale is even a published author and she is presently working on a educational tattoo book.

Gale enjoys a business challenge and excels at research and development of new and unusual business concepts.  She is responsible for the highly successful merging of two separate and distinct services--fine art tattooing and permanent cosmetics.  Artistry Concepts is receiving national acclaim for the success of this unconventional merger.  With the combination of a sophisticated fine art tattoo studio, permanent cosmetics and art gallery, many other tattoo studios are now attempting to catch pace and repattern their businesses.  Gale has recently developed their newest subsidiary, Artistry Concepts Hair Replication.

In her spare time, Gale enjoys playing pool with Mark, listening to country music and collecting vintage German Steiff stuffed animals. Steiff

As a member of the Englewood YMCA,  Gale enjoys keeping in shape and is at the gym by 5:30 a.m.

As an accomplished horsewoman, Gale had previously competed in many northeastern horseshows.  Although now retired from competition for some years, Gale hopes to find some more spare time and another horse to refresh her competitive riding skills.
